Dave Fowler
Dave Fowler is around speakers and speaker accessories everyday and has been for quite some time now. He has a BA in Journalism as well as degrees in both music and media and has been playing piano and keyboards his whole life. Dave built two studios from scratch and has released three self-produced, internationally-released albums with Echo Movement, a surf/reggae/soca band. Dave has quite a speaker collection and swears by his new Yamaha HS80M studio monitors and his Alpine SWV-1042 sub that is in his truck. In addition to his current favorites, Dave has two pairs of active studio monitors, a pair of passive loudspeaker cabs (15" Peaveys), a pair of active loudspeakers (12" Mackies), a pair of active subs (15" Mackies), one pair of 3-way towers, three active floor monitors (10"), a pair of passive floor monitors (10"), and a whole galaxy of combo amps and random speakers for various listening pleasures. His truck also has a seven-speaker custom-installed audio video system (four 5.25", two 4" and one 10"). When it comes to studio work, Dave prefers to use Yamaha speakers and Vox, Fender or Ampeg for instrument combo amps. He favors Mackie for loudspeakers, Infintiy, Pioneer and Alpine for mobile speakers and just about anything in his living room.
