WHY Bookshelf Speakers?

Bookshelf Speakers are mid-sized speakers for general use deriving their name simply from their nature to sit on desktops and bookshelves. They are typically around 7-10 lbs which allows them to produce a powerful, clear and lifelike sound and makes them great for stereo systems. Most are equipped with several drivers and magnetic shielding so you can position them close to TV and computer monitors safely. They can also be suspended, mounted to a wall or ceiling, or just free standing and can be used as either a stereo pair or as part of a larger surround system.
