Paradigm
Paradigm has built a reputation as a manufacturer that provides its customers with a full range of high-value products. They build all manner of loudspeakers and subwoofers, and manufacture most of the components themselves. In fact, Paradigm manufactures three complete lines of loudspeakers, Performance, Monitor, and Reference. All of their speakers are suitable for use in two-channel stereo systems or they can be matched to the appropriate center-channel, surrounds and subwoofer to form a home-theater system. I counted 20 models of main speakers (including active models and those with powered subwoofers), five center-channel speakers, five surround speakers, and nine subwoofers in their excellent online catalog. With so many models in their product line ranging in price from under $200 up to $2000, Paradigm has a speaker solution for the value-conscious music or home-theater enthusiast no matter what the budget.
Paradigm is a Canadian company specializing in the production of loudspeakers. The company was founded in 1982 by Jerry VanderMarel and Scott Bagby in Toronto, Ontario. In 1999 all manufacturing for Paradigm was moved to a new facility in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Anthem Electronics, a sister company specializing in audio components, shares the factory space.
Paradigm speakers are designed and built from the ground up in their own facilities and even have their own anechoic chamber with which to conduct acoustic research. Paradigm has a few separate lines of home theater speaker systems. The Cinema line are a satellite speaker system aimed at the affordable side of the home theater market; they sell around $600. The Reference series is the very high-end at high-scale prices and the Performance series might have more palatable prices with audiophile performance.
