Sonus Faber
In 1983, Franco Serblin founded Sonus Faber in Vicenza, Italy, with the idea of crafting speakers that sounded like live music instead of merely a reproduction. For him, the art of speaker and musical-instrument design had everything to do with controlling resonance.
Think about it-- the sound of a guitar, violin, or any stringed instrument is generated within a carefully tuned resonating acoustic chamber. That concept is what inspired the form and function of Serblin's designs, which synthesize the best of old-world craftsmanship and finely tuned technology.
Sonus Faber produces hand-built speakers that innovatively combine the merits of historical handcrafting with new-age technology, creating some of the most musical designs out there. Startling dynamics and bass performance are just two of the results of this approach. Sonus Faber Speakers are based upon the three cornerstones of speaker design: driver development, crossover theory and cabinet design.
Sonus Faber has historically christened their speaker models after venerated musical-instrument makers Stradivari, Amati, and Guarneri.
