Among Sony’s galaxy of electronics, there is a great line of speakers for your car, home, office-- virtually anywhere you want music.

Sony, originally developed in Japan’s post-World War II era, started with transistor radios.  Since then, they have released some of the world’s most popular electronics, like the Walkman and Playstation game consoles.  They have vast resources (like money) to research and develop their speakers without spreading thin.  Combining quality with quantity, they supply speakers for cars, boats and home while keeping the prices perfectly reasonable.

Their car speakers are competitively priced, and offer every size for your vehicle’s enclosures.  Sony is not my preferred brand for car speakers in terms of tone and design; I usually feel they sound “tinny” when compared to the Infinity or Polk.  When Sony finally made a well-toned speaker (the Xplode series), I couldn’t get past the obnoxious red designs.  However, that’s not to say Sony doesn’t hold its own in the car speaker department, and they offer great packages for speakers, subwoofers, enclosures, amps and head units.

Sony makes great home theater and home DVD systems.  Both include the surround amplifier and 5.1 speakers, but the latter includes a DVD player built into the system.  My family still owns two Sony DVD surround systems and swears by them.  They sound as beautiful as they did when they were bought eight years ago.

You can get Sony’s DVD systems for under $300, and they go up to about $800 with more features.  Car and mobile speakers are generally between the $50s and $90s.  Marine speakers are about $130.  Desktop speaker systems, including an iPod dock, are in the mid $200s.  For full product details, you can browse through Sony.com and Crutchfield.com.  Bookshelf and other speakers can be found for under $100 at Best Buy and Circuit City.
