Cyber Acoustics CA-3001
3-Piece Subwoofer & Satellite Speaker System that falls flat on punchThe Cyber Acoustics CA-3001 is a definite upgrade to your stock PC speakers. The volume can get pretty loud and the subwoofer, while isn’t a “boom box”, definitely gives a decent-enough kick, especially for the price.
The midrange and lows are somewhat under toned and unbalanced. The speakers also lack an electronic shield, so signals such as radio frequencies and cell phone calls will often disrupt the audio and produce a slight buzz. The subwoofer cabinet is thin and lightweight. Because of this the bass may not be as deep and resonant as you may expect.
The 3-piece speakers are a good buy overall. They’re cheap and they do a decent enough job. Just because the sound isn’t overgenerous doesn’t mean that they’re bad speakers. The obvious gripe of the Cyber Acoustics CA-3001 is its lack of booming bass, which for some may defeat the purpose of buying a set of mini speakers with a subwoofer. Nonetheless, the amount of bass that the speakers do produce is ideal for iPod, MP3 and PC usage.
