Fender 1270 PA Monitor

Ten-inch floor monitor for the stage.
The Good

It’s super light. It can get cranked pretty loud before distorting, as long as you have an EQ in line to roll off the low-mids. The 1270 is rugged with its molded enclosure. It’s easy to carry with a built in handle. It sits at three different angles for easy floor positioning and projection.

The Bad

Forget any prospects of hearing lower frequencies. With a crappy piezo cone tweeter, you can also forget about a sparkly high-end. You’d think that’d eliminate or seriously reduce the chance of feedback, but the 1270 still manages to feed back pretty regularly, requiring an inline FB killer or graphic EQ with feedback control.

Great for one or two-man acts. If you have an acoustic duo, for instance, this is a compact, lightweight and amply powerful consideration for monitoring your vocals. Piping instruments through them might take some finesse to not overload them.
