These floor stands will not fall down due to their heavy base and their good looks and quality of sound make them hard to beat.
The Harman Kardon HTFS2 floor stands look great and work even better. They have a nice sleek appearance that matches well with just about any décor and their slight contrast in color suits the speakers.
Once the speakers are in place, the front view is very sleek and pretty, but the side view is very different. Unlike the front, which is the same width and has smooth lines, you can see how the speaker sticks out from the side. Whether this is a bad thing will depend on your personal tastes. Personally, I didn’t mind it and thought that it looked neat, but if you are expecting a sleek look from all angles, you will not get it with the Harman Kardon HTFS2 floor stands— at least not once you have inserted your speakers. It should be noted though, that if the stands were to be the same width as the speakers themselves, they would take up considerably more floor room, so their design is a really smart one.
The heavy base is solid and will definitely keep the stands and speakers from toppling over. Even with my rambunctious dog, they stay in place with ease and I really appreciated the little extras that came with the Harman Kardon HTFS2 floor stands.
For instance, the speakers came with carpet tacks, which I used right away. These dug into the carpet nicely and helped to keep the stands in place even better than the weight of the base alone. And for those of you who do not have carpet and do not want to scratch giant holes into your hardwood, they have included some rubber pads that will keep your floor safe. There is nothing like a company that thinks of everything and actually follows through.
While I am not the most handy person in the world, I didn’t have any trouble with these floor stands. I got them together in a jiffy and I was extra glad that I kept all of the hardware that comes with my purchases. It turns out that you need the manufacturer’s screws that are used to secure the speakers to the stands and that they do not come with any extras, which I was a little disappointed about. They are cheap enough that you can take a quick trip to the hardware store for them, but who wants to have to do that?
