Without being overly extravagant or inexpensive, they sell both the Arcam’s Alto Bookshelf speaker in Cherry or Maple for $599 and the five driver Vandersteen loudspeaker for just under $17,000. Generally for a slightly more discerning listener, Acoustic Sound’s inventory is still somewhat specialized. Driven by a well-intentioned effort to enhance the music listening experience, they have handpicked products that they feel best achieve this goal.

Acoustic Sounds accepts Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express cards and also allow non credit card payments through either personal checks or money orders. They do have a 30 day money back guarantee on returned items, but the customer is responsible for the return shipping costs and there is a twenty percent restocking fee for all non-defective merchandise.

Based in Kansas, Acoustic Sounds Inc. has been around for twenty years and have two great showrooms for auditioning gear and recordings. Doubling as a Media retailer, they have a massive selection of SACD, DVD-Audio, Vinyl and CDs and a very informative Fact sheet on tech specs for the different formats. They also sell books to assist in building killer hi-fidelity systems.  Their website is easily navigated, but doesn’t provide specification sheets for the individual products. They do, however, welcome user reviews and ratings.

I found Acoustic Sounds Inc. to be pretty impressive. They have a very good customer service section on their website that answers most questions as well as providing both email and phone support. It’s not a superstore, but it has a moderately good selection of a range of products and a nicely organized collection of recordings. For people who love great sounding recordings with great sounding gear, this is a good place to go.
