The Good

Enormous selection of value and quality high-end speakers available through Amazon and third party vendors. Almost everything is in stock, if you look hard enough. Amazon warranty and return policy is excellent. Prices on some top models are way below prices on other sites, making a purchase a no-brainer.

The Bad

There are a vast number of user opinions and a large array of items to search through. Not every third party vendor is a familiar name and consumers may feel uncomfortable buying speakers from "Crazy Bill's Cowboy Hat Emporium", even if Crazy Bill is happens to be a nice guy. Where is that customer support phone number again? Free shipping depends on the retailer, if not coming from Amazon.

The Verdict

Possibly the largest selection in the world of speakers and some really top shelf models are available for significantly less than you would pay elsewhere. Speakers generally arrive quickly. Customer reviews tend to be in bulk and useless.

While Amazon.com is primarily associated with used books, the website has proven to be a successful tool for finding speakers. Not only are you likely to find almost any pair that you are looking for either through Amazon or one of its affiliates, the prices are severely discounted.

While there are hundreds upon thousands of products listed on the website, finding a specific item is relatively easy. We found new Yamaha MSR100 portable speakers for just under $300 by typing in the brand and model number in the search option section. Amazon’s shipping policy depends on how often you order with them, and how quickly you want your order. Our experience is that if something is in stock, it arrives within days. Their return policy must be completed in 30 days and new merchandise must still be in its original packaging. If you pass the 30 day mark, you can just re-sell the product on Amazon.

Shop here with confidence but avoid the retailers who do not really deal in electronics but have suddenly discovered a pair of speakers. The website is enjoyable and fun to search for products.
